Christina Kwauk, PhD, is a social scientist with research and policy expertise in education and climate change, green skills and workforce development, and gender equality in education.

Christina is a systems thinker driven to solve challenges in global education policy and systems transformation. She has published numerous policy papers, academic articles, and curricula on climate change, and has trained education sector professionals around the world on greening education strategies.

Christina is Co-Founder of Unbounded Alliance, a global advisory transforming systems that shape the mindsets, skills, and capabilities of future generations for a more inhabitable and just world. She also serves on the Cosmos of Stars for RegenIntel, Girl Rising’s Advisory Council, the International Panel on Social Progress's Workgroup on Human Security, Public Health, and Population Wellbeing, and is a member of the Climate Change Action Plan Ad Hoc Committee for the Prince George's County Public Schools Board of Education in Maryland.

Formerly, Christina was a Fellow at the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution, Associate Director of the Monitoring and Evaluation of Climate Communication and Education (MECCE) Project, Head of Climate and Education at the Education Commission, and a member of the International Jury for the UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education.

Christina holds a PhD in Comparative and International Development Education from the University of Minnesota, an MA in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, and a BS in Psychology from Sewanee: The University of the South.

She loves reading climate fiction--it gives her an outlet for braving the uncertainty of our climate reality by exploring how some of our time's best and most creative thinkers are imagining possible presents and futures. She loves visiting our country's national parks with her 2 daughters--they've been to 28 parks so far!
